Improvements in digital recording software and hardware means that busy audio professionals frequently work from home, a far cry from the days when artists would find themselves running around from studio to studio.
Whilst affordable recording technology has improved greatly, recording either at home or in mixed-use spaces has always presented its own challenges, especially when it comes to the way recording sound is affected by extraneous or reflected sound within an environment.
Typical problems encountered during recording in such untreated environments include medium to high frequency reflections, echoes, reverberation and standing wave problems.
In response to this challenge, we are pleased to offer SoundCage, a professional solution that provides you with all the features required to get you operational and recording clean professional sound.
SoundCage is an acoustic treatment system, modular by design and incredibly fast and easy to install. The combination of structure and materials provides a lightweight and adaptable solution without compromising any of the excellent sound-isolating properties required by professionals.
We’ve used the same great design principles that we are known for, to deliver a solution that is both effective and affordable. SoundCage will instantly improve the acoustics in your studio and transform the quality of your recordings.
SoundCage is designed to withstand the demanding needs of today’s studios and commercial applications whilst also looking great in your studio.
Enviable sound isolation is achieved from the high-performance acoustic materials that we use to create our patented panels, which simply slot together. With our system you get excellent sound-isolating properties with the added functionality demanded by busy voice-over artists and podcasters.
Our system is designed to work perfectly within recording studios, voiceover rooms, podcasting and vocal booths. The modular, interlocking panel design means fast assembly within virtually any size or shape of room. If required, the panels can be easily relocated or moved to one side.
SoundCage is also designed to be used as acoustic space dividers. This means that if you record multiple artists simultaneously whilst sharing the same recording space, you can provide a high level of sound compartmentalisation between them to achieve truer and cleaner recorded sound from each individual source. This can be particularly effective when you need more defined mid to high frequencies.
Many voiceover artists have used the SoundCage modular system as a fast and simple solution to the problems of extraneous noise, creating the very best acoustic environment for clean professional results.
From our long-standing experience, we knew that any solution to sound isolation, no matter what the recording environment, would need to be adaptive and flexible. Recording spaces and project requirements vary from project to project and from professional to professional.
Because of this we knew we had to build a system that could be easily expanded and adapted to fit every circumstance and change – it has to be light enough to lift and move, fast enough to erect, easy to alter the shape, and simple to expand or reduce in size. The components must be strong enough to endure years of hard work and built well enough to do their job.
We know that there are many professionals and production teams who need to travel with their equipment, often spending a lot of time working on location. We decided to create a system that could be dismantled and made compact, light enough to be carried with ease and small enough to be placed into tight spaces like the boot of an average car.
We have minimised the weight by avoiding any unnecessary or heavy components. This makes our system easy to handle for almost anybody, regardless of age or ability. A reduced weight also really helps during those moments when you need to quickly change the placement of the panels to suit a new situation or recording requirement.
When not in use, the system has been designed to be dismantled and stored away in the most compact way possible to avoid taking up any precious space. We have also ensured that the system can be packed down in a way that provides the best protection for each of the components.
Protective storage/carry bags are provided with each kit, as well as being available individually, to ensure that panel kits can be stored safely away from dust, dirt and unwanted visitors like insects, pets and even children.
We have worked hard, without compromising quality or performance, to provide the most affordable solution possible, for as many people as possible. Our hope is to be an integral part of every great recording, from the aspiring artist in a home recording studio, to the independent producers, the broadcasters and the big production studios.

Pro-coustix Ultraflex™ Foam – Specially designed for acoustic purposes, this foam has a studio grey colour, great structure and open cell ratio. These professional foam panels can be used to treat medium to high frequency reflections, echoes, reverberation and standing wave problems.
Made from high grade Pro-coustix Ultraflex™ open cell foam, produced here in Britain for SoundCage, our panels feature a contemporary wedge profile that is both effective in absorption and attractive in appearance.
At 25Kg/M3, Pro-coustix Ultraflex™ open cell foam is denser and more highly rated than many other alternatives offered in the UK (typically only 5Kg/m3). Greater density results in tighter packed air spaces per square foot and makes it possible to achieve balanced results using slimmer panels. This results in a truly crisp and defined sound, as opposed to dead or muffled results from using thicker alternatives.
The Ultraflex™ Wedge Tiles have an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient), rating as shown below:
0.12 @125Hz
0.36 @250Hz
0.71 @500Hz
0.99 @1000Hz
1.01 @2000Hz
1.11 @4000Hz
The Ultraflex™ Acoustic Wedge Tiles conform to stringent fire tests and are suitable for studios, cinema rooms or anywhere acoustic control is required.
